Taylor Peahuff Awarded Military Order of the Purple Heart Scholarship

Sophomore Taylor Peahuff of Union was awarded the Military Order of the Purple Heart Scholarship for 2015.

Peahuff will receive $3,000 from the non-profit membership organization that is not affiliated with the military service branches.

The MOPH Scholarship Program is a competitive scholarship program that awards approximately 80 scholarships to Purple Heart recipients and their spouses, children, and grandchildren each year.

Peahuff was eligible to apply for the MOPH scholarship as a result of her grandfather, Sammy E. Smith being a Purple Heart recipient. He served in the United States Army and was wounded in the Vietnam Conflict.
