Rachel Baylor Receives University of South Carolina Upstate Foundation Scholarship

Rachel Baylor of Greensboro has been awarded a scholarship by the University of South Carolina Upstate Foundation.

Baylor received the Featherston Family Endowed Scholarship . Baylor graduated from Southeast Guilford and is majoring in Spanish.

"These privately funded scholarships are created and supported by alumni, current faculty and staff, retirees, friends and corporate partners of USC Upstate," said Bea Walters Smith, director of development and foundation scholarships. "Each scholarship has specific criteria and awards up to $2,500 per year."

A separate application is required for these scholarships and the application is available online at www.uscupstate.edu/foundationscholarships from November 1- February 1 on the USC Upstate Financial Aid website. Students who are eligible for these scholarships are notified in the summer months and are invited to meet their scholarship donors at a University event every fall.

The University of South Carolina Upstate Foundation awarded scholarships totaling more than $100,000 to 125 students during the 2016-2017 academic year.
