Katelynn Arnold Powell to Perform in "The Great American Trailer Park Musical"

2017 Mar 27

Katelynn Arnold Powell of Evansville 47701 will perform with the Shoestring Players in "The Great American Trailer Park Musical," April 6-9 in the Performing Arts Center Theatre at USC Upstate.

Show times are 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $10 general admission and $5 for USC Upstate students, faculty and staff.

Armadillo Acres may never be the same when Pippi, the newest tenant in this Starke, Fla., mobile-home community, moves in. Not shy about being the new girl in town, Pippi, a stripper on the run, wins the affection of Norbert Garstecki, a toll booth operator and the husband of Jeannie Garstecki, an avid fan of Dr. Phil and who also is in the throes of agoraphobia. Sparks will fly and some bleached blonde roots may just get ripped out over this affair!

"The tenants of this trailer park put the fun in dysfunctional," said Jimm Cox, director for the show and professor of theatre at USC Upstate. "If this were a real place, I'd want to live there! It's a little trashy and tacky, but like the hair in this show, it's big fun!"
