Kara Lohr Earns NFCA Scholar-Athlete Honors for 2014

Kara Lohr of Spartanburg, SC, has been named an NFCA Scholar-Athlete for achieving a GPA of 3.5 or better during the 2013-14 academic year.

Maintaining its high level of academic standards, the USC Upstate softball program had six members of its 2014 team earn National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Scholar-Athlete honors as the organization announced its team and individual honorees.

The six Spartans selected as Scholar-Athletes by the NFCA helped the softball team record a 3.107 GPA for the year, the eighth consecutive year the program has achieved a GPA over 3.0. Upstate is one of 99 Division I programs that recorded a GPA of 3.0 or better.
