Charles Hornack Receives University of South Carolina Upstate Foundation Scholarship

2014 Mar 7

Charles Hornack of Duncan is one of 69 students to be awarded a scholarship by the University of South Carolina Upstate Foundation.

Hornack received the Doc Lindsay Memorial Scholarship. Hornack graduated from Spartanburg Community College and is a junior majoring in IMS.

"These privately funded scholarships are created and supported by alumni, current faculty and staff, retirees, friends and corporate partners of USC Upstate," said Bea Walters Smith, director of development and foundation scholarships. "Each scholarship has specific criteria and awards up to $2,500 per year."

A separate application is required for these scholarships and the application is available online at www.uscupstate.edu/foundationscholarships from November 1- February 1 on the USC Upstate Financial Aid website. Students who are eligible for these scholarships are notified in the summer months and are invited to meet their scholarship donors at a University event every fall.

The Foundation awarded more than $100,000 during the 2013-2014 academic year.
